A fully licensed physician who specializes in mental health. Because psychiatrists are medical doctors, they can prescribe medications — antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and more. They diagnose and treat conditions like depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, and OCD. Many also provide therapy, though they often focus primarily on medication management.
